Christmas Boxes

Every year Journey Church supplies hundreds of gift boxes to children like these. We pray & play with the children and their families as we pass the gift boxes out. We have filled boxes for the children that are sponsored and even have sent hundreds more to the children that are waiting their forever sponsor. Most importantly you as a church are literally transforming lives through all of these things you have done and continue to do. It brings hope to the Haiti people and strengthens their belief in God and Christ. It lets them know they are loved and that they matter as Children of God.

A Typical Christmas Day In Haiti:

It’s Christmas morning, and excitement fills the air. As early as 3:00 a.m., people may begin to hear the sounds of theaccordion play the beautiful music, and a Christian choir to walk down the road praising and singing about ‘the new born Savior who came to bring peace to all people everywhere.’ Many times there is very little to eat. Christmas is a time to enjoy extra food like big boiler pots of bouillon soup, beans with rice, maybe the fried chicken. Sometimes there are special things to drink also. It is a good day to praise God for the many things He has done.”

Scripture

When Jesus saw this, he was indignant. He said to them, ‘Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these.’

-Mark 10:14

See that you do not look down on one of these little ones. For I tell you that their angels in heaven always see the face of my Father in heaven.

-Matthew18:10

If I give all I possess to the poor and surrender my body to the flames, but do not have love, I gain nothing.

-1 Corinthians 13:3

Listen, my dear brothers: Has not God chosen those who are poor in the eyes of the world to be rich in faith and to inherit the kingdom he promised those who love him?

-James 2:5

Therefore, go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you. And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age.

-Matthew 28:19-20
