If you wish you may send additional funds to you child/family in addition to your monthly giving. Families use these funds for starting a new business, beds and bicycle for their children, home repairs, animals to produce food to sell or eat, any additional food or medical needs. Transportation is very limited in Haiti and some Children walk miles to school every day and a bike would help a child go back and forth more easily.
Just like our schools in the United States, there is always the need for additional supplies for the classrooms, libraries and schools. Their needs are to core school textbooks (paperback editions), educational texts, chalk, chalk boards, drawing tools, meter sticks. Also, every school in Haiti is required to update their learning centers with French dictionaries, national encyclopedias, maps of Haiti, world globes and world maps.
For the week of Mardi Gras in February school children do NOT attend school during the entire week of Mardi Gras. Celebration of Mardi Gras in Haiti is a very ungodly time with voodoo as its primary focus. To protect our school children and provide a secure environment for them, pastors planned and promoted (what they refer to as) “the grand dream of carnival retreats”. In 2015, Pastor Jeremy reports, “During the Haitian Carnival Holiday, we had a great tour of evangelism organized by several churches in the community, food and celebration at Limonade, and 254 people accepted Christ in their life.” The high point of the Mardi Gras celebration in Haiti is on Ash Wednesday of each year

If I give all I possess to the poor and surrender my body to the flames, but do not have love, I gain nothing.-1 Corinthians 13:3
Listen, my dear brothers: Has not God chosen those who are poor in the eyes of the world to be rich in faith and to inherit the kingdom he promised those who love him?-James 2:5
Therefore, go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you. And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age.-Matthew 28:19-20
